How to Join

As an affiliated Chapter of the League of Utah Writers, you will need to confirm your membership through them and select our chapter. The steps are below.

- Visit the League Official Site here

- Fill out the form, select Salt City Genre Writers

- Pay the $30 fee

- A confirmation email will be sent and a welcome from our chapter will come soon after!

Come Meet Us

 

Our official Monthly Meeting is at 9am on the first Saturday of every month over Zoom. Every subsequent Saturday we host a writing check-in, also over Zoom.

 

We will resume in person meetings when it is safe to do so. Please email us if you would like the link to join!

Along with an in-person presence, we also host, maintain, and utilize a Discord Server with multiple channels and topics to hop into! So even at a distance, you can keep in touch. Once you join, a link will be sent with instructions on how to join. OR enter in your email and name at the bottom of our site for an invite

Member Benefits

  • Website Access to Forums & Resources

    • ​​This is where you can check in for announcements, documents, and power point presentations to previous classes taught to the chapter.

  • Submission to the Chapter Anthology

    • ​Members are allowed to submit their short story to our yearly anthology and possibly be picked for publishing their piece. 

  • Submission to the Monthly Medium Publication

    • ​Members are allowed to submit their works to our monthly medium publication and possibly place in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or honorable mention and published on Medium. 

  • Access to Online Classes and Help

    • A portion of our funds goes towards finding you new material and providing anything from beginner, intermediate or freelancing classes to help you on your way in your career!

  • Discount to LUW Events

    • With membership, the league provides discounts to both the spring and fall conferences, as well as entry fees to contests.

  • Participation in Critique Groups

    • We hold monthly critique meetings. Membership allows you to sign up to participate!
